Private and dealers zeppelin cachets and stamps

Beitragvon pasol » 7. Jun 2013, 21:04

Dear friends,

I would want to open a new thread about private and dealers zeppelin stamps, which are on zeppelin mail. My interest for this thread has a long history. 8-) When I got the Ivo Lukanc's Catalog "Zeppelinpost...der UdSSR"(1975) many years ago, I saw an interesting cover of LZ-127 Return Russian flight 1930 from September 11, 1930, which had unknown guiding stamp in three lines on three languages "CARRIED BY AIRSHIP ZEPPELIN and etc". I don't saw this stamp in Sieger catalog before and I would want about this stamp: is it semi-official or private?
Now I have another postcard of this flight with the same stamp and can answer: it is private dealers zeppelin stamps of Mr. Otto Edenharter , "Zeppelin mail specialist" & stapms dealer from Munich/Germany. ;)
...so that not only Mr. Roessler creating interesting pieces for collectors :D

Best regards,

Dear friends,

it is another well-known dealer zeppelin cachet. It made by Markenhaus Ferdinand Redwitz from Stuttgart/Germany and used during some zeppelin flights.

Hello. Here is another Cover from my collection which was prepared by Mr "Georg H. Jäger" who was the Editor of the "Airpost Stamp" in Libau. Latvia. He prepared approximately 2000 Covers & Postcards for this first flight (Transfer flight) to America by the Airship " LZ 126 " (ZR 3 "Los Angeles") all the mail which G.H Jäger" sent was all addressed to the same person whos name was " Mr R. Amort " Brooklyn, NY, USA. The Post Office in Friedrichshafen cancelled all Jägers mail with the date "15 SEP.24 2-3 N", but then they refused to board it, but after heavy protests Jägers mail was accepted and so then his mail received an additional cancelation with the date "10.OKT.24.5-6 N", the additional "RED BOX CACHET" on the back of this Cover was applied after the delivery.
