"HERMANN E. SIEGER MAIL"

"HERMANN E. SIEGER MAIL"

Beitragvon TALLTREES » 9. Okt 2010, 17:27

Hello again. I enclose a picture of a rather interesting "SIEGER COVER". It was sent from "LORCH" on the "4.10.28" to "HAMBURG", it was sent by Registered Mail with 2 RM Zeppelin Postage Stamp, and it also has a "MIT LUFTPOST BEFORDERT HAMBURG 1" confirmation Stamp. On the back of the Cover it has a "SIEGER" Vignetten and a "HAMBURG" receiving Stamp with the date "-6.10.28.940V". Now here is my question :!: there are also "2" Red " H.E SIEGER " confirmation Postmarks with the date of "-5 OKT 1928 ". could any member explain when these Two Sieger Postmarks were applied as the date (5 OCT 1928) is inbetween the departure Postmark (4.10.28) and the arrival Hamburg Postmark (-6.10.28) :?:.
Thanks again
TALLTREES.

Hello again. Here is another "Hermann E. Sieger" Cover that i have. It was sent again from "LORCH" by Registered Mail on the "24.6.32" and it was sent to "DAUBORN". On the back of the Cover it has a "SIEGER LABEL" (DIFFERENT DESIGN) to my previous Covers label, and a ""DAUBORN" backstamp (25.6.32 7 - 8), there are also "2" Blue "SIEGER" confirmation Postmarks (24. 6. 1932), on this Cover the "2" Blue Sieger Postmarks correspond to the departure day Postmark (24.6.32), but on my previous Sieger Cover the Sieger confirmation Postmarks did "NOT" correspond with the departure date :?: , could any member explain the reason why :?:
Thanks again

Interesting... I never looked at the back side of these Sieger covers. Had no idea that they used their own seals/labels and their own private markings.

As per the incorrect date, it seems that they simply had the wrong date when marking the mail. But since their marking is a private one, I would not care much about any settings. In theory, they could have done with the marking what ever they wanted to do.
