More about Paraguay 1931 Mi.#392 and 393

Beitragvon pasol » 6. Mär 2010, 17:59

All good day,
Would like to return again to one of interesting items of Zeppelin's stamps. These are stamps of Paraguay 1931 with overprint Mi.# 392 and 393. Unfortunately not in more catalogues the explanation is given (only in Sanabria), that overprint were two types (A and B). In particular in Sieger about it no inform. Distinctions of types of overprints in details of Zeppelin (see Pic.1), value "3" or "not" is not considered. Stamp Mi.#392 is only with ovpr. "Type A", but stamp Mi/#393 both types. And for it the type B is usual , but type A meets much less.
Except for these basic distinctions there are following variaties:
(Pic. 2 for Mi.#392, from left to right)
1.Usual stamp Mi.#392;
2.Ovpr. on stamp where on a map there are "additional lakes"
3. Poor the second "r" in a word "Correo" (it is specified in catalogue Sieger), poor the second "e" in a word "Aereo".
4. Poor the second "r" in a word "Correo" (it is specified in catalogue Sieger)
5. A full forgery (stamp and overprint).
(Pic. 3 for Mi.# 393, from left to right)
The top line:
"Type A"
1. In word Zeppel'in (an apostrophe after the letter "l")
2. In word Zeppel'ln (an apostrophe after the letter "l";
the letter "l" instead of the letter "i" (is in Sieger)
The bottom line:
"Type B":
3. Usual Mi.#393
4. In word Zeppeiin (the letter "i" instead of the letter "l" (is in Sieger)
5. In a word Zeppelln (there is no part of the letter "Z" and "e"; the letter "l" instead of the letter "i" (is in Sieger), is broken ending motor group of Zeppelin.
6. A full forgery (stamp and overprint).
If who that can something add to my information I shall is very grateful. Thanks for "Zeppelin" and his explanations on features of printing overprints.
Best regards,
pasol.

The two stamps in the middle of the last row (Type B) have a black square on the left side of the white frame.
Is this another overprint error?

Dear friends,
for continuation this thread three new types of overprints:
1.Mi.#392 with error in word "Zeppejin", the letter "j" instead of the letter "l".
2.Mi.#393 (Type A) with "vanishing" airship.
...probably, to this time printed plate "depicting the zeppelin" type A turned defective after the printing the entire run of stamps Mi.#392 and a part of stamps Mi.#393 and had to be corrected, the result was a overprint type B. :?:
3.Mi.#393 (Type B) with error in word "Zeppe!in", the sign "!" instead of the letter "l".
Regadrs,
pasol.

...in addition, these stamps are in imperforate version. I think, they were cut from exemplars with a skipped perforation and with a wide fields :x .
1. Stamp with usual fields.
2. Stamp with a skipped perforation
3. Stamp with with a wide fields.

...and once more, my favorite variety of these stamps:
Mi.#393(type B) with "landed" airship (it was shown in another thread).

I have it only on a 3.SAF 1931 flown cover (Si.#136).

Hello friends,
one interesting detail: there are the photos of these stamps in Sieger catalog (last edition, 2001) on p.139. And the left stamp is a variety Mi.#392 with error in word "Zeppejin", the letter "j" instead of the letter "l" ...the same was shown earlier  !

Hello friends,
I decided to show a better copy of one earlier featured variety Mi.#393 type B : with error in word "Zeppeiin" (the letter "i" instead of the letter "l" (it is in Sieger).
@Zeppelin wrote:"...The two stamps in the middle of the last row (Type B) have a black square on the left side of the white frame.
Is this another overprint error?"

Really, some stamps have the black squares on the bottom left side of the white frames (including this stamp) . I think, it is the element of the overprint printed form for better centring during print process. I think that the stamps(having these black squares) must place in bottom left corner in first column of full stamps sheet and maybe in other places :!: .
By the way, the previous copy of similar stamp with the similar kind of overprint variety, which I shown, has the similar feature (a black square on the left side of the white frame), so we can say that both stamps were in the identical position on a stamp sheet.
Regards,
pasol.

Hello friends,

there are the new found varieties of Zeppelin stamps:

the first, Mi.#392 (type A) without "Z" in word "Zeppelin" in overprint;

Next variety is more interesting...I would say just a wonderful. ;)
It is the stamp Mi.#393 with absolutly broken Zeppelin in overprint and with broken "Z" in word "Zeppelin". 8-)
This item can not give possibility to recognize a type (A or B) of the overprint. But I think it is the overprint of type A. In this case, can explain the appearance of the overprint of type B:
The printing form (cliche) with Zeppelin overprint of type A, which was used for printing the stamps Mi.#392 and part of the issue the stamps Mi.#393 was broken. This stamp confirms this fact. So, it was made a new printing form - type B, which was used only for the printing of the rest of issue stamps Mi.#393 :!: :D

Best regards,
pasol.
