Dear Zeppelin,
this comment near the photo from magazine concerned only to bottom right photo (but it is not correct). This man on left with post box is not prof.R.Samoilovitch. I'll bet a bottle of champagne :D !
I know his face very well. He always had spectacles and very large mustache. I think, this man is Heinrich Kubis and it is his job.
Best regard,
pasol.

Dear pasol,
well, according to the caption of the image, you have lost the bottle of Champagne.... ;)
Was Samoilovich travelling on the Polar Flight with his mustache? I have read somewhere that he almost missed the departure for the Polar Flight because he was shaving too long.... Have to see where I have filed that old newspaper article from 1931.

Hello,
well i am not sure dear Zeppelin if you won the bottle.
I thought i have seen this guy (Samoilovich) before. Here is the answer for your question about his mustache.
Watch this movie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVP2pZX2yGo
At 4:36 you can see him clearly among the Zeppelin crew (in artic outfit) with mustache an glasses.
So I would go for Kubis !
Hope this helps here !

Dear TALLTREES,
thanks for your answer, but I call them an additional crew members (not passengers). I would add this list - the additional radio officer Ernst Krenkel (USSR),nationality- german. In future he is a famous polar explorer and Chief of the Soviet philatelist association.
Best regards,
pasol.

Hello pasol and Talltrees,
many thanks for the information!

Here is a other picture of Kubis on his working place:
The standing person on the right side.

Talltrees:
I just remember seeing a Crew letter from Kubis in one of your posts.
Hope you don´t mind showing this letter again:
Is this a true Crew mail, or just a philatelistic mail ?
What is your opinion ?
Please let me know ...

Thanks
and Best Greetings
Klaus

Hello Polarfahrtsurcher. The Cover which i showed previously (The same as you showed in your last post) of H kubis from the POLAR FLIGHT was not from my own Collection i saw this some where on the internet so i showed it in the thread, I do have Postcards sent by H kubis which can verify his Handwriting and signature. I enclose part of a Postcard sent by H Kubis with his signature on the message part of the Postcard.
